Drywall Repair in Houston

Repairs finished to Level 5, texture matched by hand, and reviewed under raking light before handoff. The patch should be undetectable — not just passable.

Service — Drywall

Invisible when done right.

Drywall repair is judged under raking light — the early morning or late afternoon sun that reveals every hump, joint, and patch that a straight-on view conceals. We finish to that standard, not to the standard that passes a walk-through at noon.

Whether we are patching a cut made for a new electrical circuit, repairing water damage, or skim-coating a full room for a fresh paint system, the work is performed in stages: repair, prime, sand, prime again, then hand to the painter. A drywall repair that goes straight to paint is a drywall repair that fails.

Drywall repair result in a warm, believable Houston-area home.
The patch you see every morning

A drywall patch that does not match the surrounding texture is more visible than the hole it replaced.

Morning light through a west-facing window reveals every patch that was rushed — every hump, every texture sprayed on without matching what was already there. A fast repair can be more noticeable than the original damage.

We assess the substrate, match the texture by hand, and prime before handoff to the painter. The test is not the noon walk-through — it is the raking light at seven in the morning.

What changes

From a visible patch to a wall you have forgotten was ever touched.

Before

Patches that look acceptable in flat light but catch every eye when the sun comes through a window at an angle.

After

A repair that disappears — matched texture, primed surface, and a handoff to the painter that needs no apology.

  • Texture matched to the existing wall under raking light
  • Water source found and resolved before patching
  • Level 5 finish ready for paint without additional prep
Repair scope

Every repair finished to the same standard — invisible under any light.

  • Hole and damage patching — small cuts to full panel replacement
  • Water-damage assessment, framing verification, and drywall replacement
  • Texture matching — orange peel, knockdown, skip-trowel, and smooth
  • Settlement crack repair for walls and ceilings
  • Skim coating for full rooms and large damaged surfaces
  • Level 5 finish as the standard for all painted surfaces
  • Primer coat applied before handoff to painter
How we approach it

Three things that set this work apart.

Not every remodeler thinks this way. These are the commitments that separate a careful project from a forgettable one.

  • 01

Texture matched by hand, not by spray.

Orange peel, knockdown, skip-trowel, and smooth are all applied by hand to match the surrounding surface. We sample a small area before committing to a full patch, and we inspect under raking light before approving.

  • 02

Water damage repaired at the source.

We do not patch over active or recent moisture without identifying the cause. Every water-damaged repair starts with a moisture reading. If the source is unresolved, we say so before touching the drywall.

  • 03

Level 5 finish as the default.

All our drywall finishes are prepared to Level 5 — a full skim coat over the taped surface. This is the standard required for semi-gloss and gloss paints, and it is also the standard that photographs well.

Finish standards

The test is raking light — not a noon walk-through.

Drywall repair is judged when morning light comes through a window at a low angle. Every hump, seam, and texture mismatch becomes visible. We finish to that standard.

01

Texture sampled first

We apply texture to a small area, let it dry, and review it under raking light before completing the patch. One approved sample, then the full repair.

02

Level 5 as the default

All surfaces receive a full skim coat over tape — Level 5. This is the standard for semi-gloss paint and the standard that holds up to a low-angle light test.

03

Moisture checked before patching

Every water-damaged area gets a moisture reading. If the source is active or recent, we flag it before touching the drywall. A dry patch over a wet problem is not a repair.

07 — Process

A remodeling process
Houston homeowners can follow.

One crew per Houston remodeling project, start to finish. The same people who frame your kitchen are the ones who set the tile, repair drywall, install flooring, and hang the cabinets. No handoffs, no strangers mid-project, no timeline surprises.

Common questions

What clients ask us most.

Honest answers to the questions that come up in every first conversation about this type of work.

Consultation

A measured conversation before a measured scope.

We start by understanding the room, the frustrations, the desired finish level, and the constraints. From there, we can recommend the right scope rather than fitting a standard package onto a house that deserves better.

  1. Walk the room and document concerns
  2. Discuss material direction and timeline
  3. Define a realistic scope before pricing
